Job Profile and the role
My current designation at Mistral is General Manager – PES Delivery.
My responsibilities include ownership of team delivery, new business opportunity creation, Product proposal delivery, Projects and technology architecture, Business unit status reporting to Management.
Essential leadership skills as a leader
The most essential skill a leader needs to possess is the fine balance between business, engineering teams, customers and management.
Ensure Grow and Develop as a Leader
My key focus is on Business growth which in itself will help translate into higher efficiency. I also continuously look at new customer acquisition and ensure constant skill development of the engineering teams.

Advice for upcoming management leader
My advice would be to focus on delivery and customer growth while maintaining transparency.
How do you as a leader make sure you are connecting the right dots
As a leader, my first priority would be to get the right resources – ensuring allocating right people for the right job. To avoid mistakes, I do regular reviews with the team and also take timely corrective action when required.
Most influenced personalty
There are two people who have greatly influenced me in my life. One is John L. Smith (JPEG 2000 Committee member), with whom I had the chance to work and was greatly influenced by his technical capabilities and attitude.

Another person that I look up to is George Martin (TI Business Manager) who taught me the nuances of Business Management.
Way to deal with the grievance of an employee
On identifying the issue, the first step would be to understand from the employee the reason for his/her grievance and to discuss the issue at hand. The issue would then be explained in detail and the employee would be asked to look at the situation from the perspective of the business.
Most Important Career Decisions
The reasons are that there is unwillingness among the technical talent to take risks and also the basic Indian culture of opting for the more stable employment option as compared to starting entrepreneurial ventures or ideas.  Also, it is tough to address the global market being based in India. It is ideal to do that out of US or other western geographies while being closer to the customer.
Family background
Being the youngest of two sons from an agricultural family in Namakkal , Tamil Nadu, the onus of taking care of the family was on my shoulders.  I completed my Bachelors Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli and have over two decades of work experience.  I am now married and have two wonderful children and we are based in Bangalore. .
